WHAT INDIA’S TRAVEL GEN WANTS

WHAT INDIA’S TRAVEL GEN WANTS

From private karaoke to private balcony dinner dates, what do leisure travellers who seek to be the “Goa version of themselves” want? Ronil Goa’s culturally savvy GM Pratiti Rajpal tells us.

Travel was once a seasonal event for most of us and depended on festivals, school vacations and special occasions. Post pandemic, we are in the era of travel being a mode of expression – to celebrate, to recover and everything in between. People are now traveling to reconnect with themselves and seek immersive local experiences, and community connections from the neighbourhood.

As part of our ideation on guest experiences for the ‘young
at heart’ audience for JdV by Hyatt Goa, we conducted a
series of “empathy interviews”. One common trend was the
need for personalized experiences that go beyond the farm
to fork and DIY cocktails. The experience at Ronil Goa – the
foray of JdV by Hyatt in India, begins way before the guest
check-in at the boutique resort. Once the booking is received,
our experience team connects with the guests to understand
their travel plans, preferences and any special requirements,
basis which we plan their entire stay – from the choice of
room towards tranquil or energy side, arrival shots at the bar,
in-room experience as well as personalized itineraries and
recommendations for their stay. The idea here is to enable
guests to elevate their vacation, without hassle.

We receive an array of unique requests from the guests during these pre-arrival discussions. Guests come for many reasons– those taking a break from strenuous work, those coming on solo trips to heal a broken heart, those meeting their cousins after decades and planning family reunions, some looking to explore new F&B venues to expand their business, and some to better understand the real estate scope in Goa. Requests range from surprise celebrations, pool parties, karaoke sessions, BBQ nights, private dinners, spa sessions and balcony dates to yacht parties, adventure sports and sunriser clubs.
Travel today is no longer about checking into a hotel or a resort or ticking off destinations—it’s about meaningful connections and feeling cared for. Guests are choosing hotels and resorts basis how other guests were made to feel there, thereby making online reputation more relevant than ever. The transition from reel to real is changing the way hotels and resorts are perceived by the guests. At our boutique resort, we design and deliver experiences with heart and soul, thereby enabling our guests to connect with their favourite version of themselves

The idea is to bring alive the quintessential Goa vibe –
from check-in at the bar with welcome shots, to lazy poolside BBQ picnics, garden gatherings, and DJ sessions that turn
casual evenings into vibrant memories. Our farmhouse
breakfast with Bloody Mary bar to the floating breakfasts,
24×7 bar and complimentary mini-bars stocked with local
snacks and beer, and the pool that stays open till 1 am —
details that make the stay effortlessly joyful. Beyond the hotel,
Ronil Goa’s Experience Team curates personalised itineraries
that help guests explore Goa through their own lens. Whether
it’s a heritage walk through the colourful lanes of Fontainhas,
a kayaking session along serene backwaters, or riverside
dining under starlit skies, the focus remains on immersion.
These experiences encourage guests to slow down, savour,
and reconnect—with themselves and with Goa. It’s a way of
travel that turns a stay into a story.

This new wave of travel—rooted in experience and
emotion—does more than enrich a guest’s journey. It drives
loyalty, repeat visits, and authentic engagement. Guests
who feel something are the ones who return, who share
their stories, and who become ambassadors for the brand.
This approach also aligns with Hyatt’s larger vision for Goa
through its ‘Come Meet The Goa You’ campaign—a call
for travellers to rediscover the side of themselves that only
Goa can awaken. Ronil Goa embodies the essence of the JdV
by Hyatt brand—vibrant, personality-driven, and deeply
connected to its neighbourhood. Here, guests don’t just visit
Goa—they meet their Goa. Because the essence of travel now
lives in experiences that move you.

“Travel rooted in experience and emotion
drives loyalty, repeat visits and authentic
engagement. This is important as we go
from the reel to the real”
